Blair West are supporting a high-growth tech consultancy with the search for a Non-Executive Chairperson as part of the next growth phase. The business is on an exceptional trajectory, having scaled 10-fold in the last five years, has an enviable culture and is well positioned for continued rapid growth in the UK and Internationally. The plan, led by the executive team and founder, includes strategic funding events in the near and medium term, with the appointment of a chairperson being a vital part of this strategy.

The business provides a range of technology consultancy and associated services to UK and International finance, public sector and enterprise clients. It is well positioned in a substantial market and has a defined strategy to achieve growth aligned with aspirational plans. The ideal candidate will be a growth-minded strategic thinker and experienced business leader, most likely with CEO leadership experience in high-growth technology or professional services industries. They will have a natural focus on doing the right things the right way, promoting the benefits of diversity within a business, and having a first-hand understanding of delivering an ambitious growth strategy within private equity and listed environments.

The opportunity:

• Strategic leadership: guide the board and organisation in achieving long-term goals.
• Governance oversight: ensure the effective functioning of the board.
• Committee engagement: oversee the proper functioning of board committees.
• Stakeholder management: champion the business within the multiple stakeholder groups.
• Risk Management: oversee management in monitoring, identifying and mitigating potential risks to business performance.
• Performance evaluation: Lead the board and collaborate on regular performance evaluations for the leadership and the business as a whole.
• Succession planning: contribute to developing a robust succession plan for critical positions.
• Mentorship: provide regular and open guidance and support to the executive team.

You’ll be the ideal candidate for this position if you:

• Are an experienced business leader with a CEO and Non-Executive Chair background
• Have a demonstrable track record of leading a scale-up agenda.
• Have industry knowledge: technology consultancy, professional services, software development.
• Have situational knowledge of founder-led businesses transitioning to private equity or listed ownership.
• Are knowledgeable of Corporate Finance processes and external fund-raising exercises.
• Have experience selling services to international enterprises and public sector organisations.
• Are an exceptional communicator.
• Are a champion of doing things the right way.
