We are supporting our client, a high-growth, well-established e-commerce optimisation platform, in the search for a CFO as part of an active Private Equity growth project. The business seeks to appoint a CFO to play a key role in delivering the next phase of growth following imminent PE investment. The newly appointed CFO will provide strategic, commercial, and analytical insight as the business delivers an ambitious growth plan.

Our client faces a significant market opportunity and has a clear plan to capitalise on it following consistent year-on-year growth. The business is well-positioned in its market niche and embedded within its customer ecosystem. The CEO is looking to build on the achievements to date by bringing on board PE investment through an MBO process, enabling the exit of a founder and the onboarding of growth expertise through a PE partner.

The appointment of a dynamic, ambitious, and high-caliber CFO who fits with the culture of a high-performing, highly collegiate boardroom and is motivated by equity value creation is a key element of the growth plan.

The opportunity:

• Overall responsibility for the design and delivery of the finance and legal strategies that support the mission, vision, and wider business strategy and are aligned with Company values.
• Lead and develop the finance function, bringing an outsrouced function in-house, and building a team where appropriate.
• Act as an inspirational leader, driving accountability for achieving measurable shareholder value, developing internal talent, and identifying external talent who can deliver.
• Accountable for delivering commercial insight, using data and analytics to drive business performance.
• Provide strategic financial advice and support to the Leadership Team, providing insight to aid decision-making.
• Drive financial performance and improve business profitability, maintaining a relentless focus on cash flow.
• Deliver robust and accurate financial information and KPIs.
• Identify areas requiring improved robust financial controls and processes that drive stakeholder accountability, maintaining a cost control culture.
• Manage external stakeholder relationships.

You’ll be the ideal candidate for this position if you’re:

• A proven CFO with leadership experience in high-growth, entrepreneurial businesses.
• Have an ecommerce platform or a combination of consumer industry and SaaS experience.
• High energy and ambitious, with a growth mindset.
• Outcomes and solutions-focused, technically excellent senior finance professional.
• Experienced in M&A and/or Private Equity Experience.
• Self-confident with leadership experience.
