Blair West is supporting a high-growth, privately owned tech consultancy searching for a CFO as they look towards an MBO in the near term. The business is seeking to appoint a CFO to play a vital role in delivering the next phase of growth, which will include an MBO. The CFO will lead an established finance team and support the CEO and broader board through strategic, commercial and analytical insight as the business delivers an ambitious growth plan.

The appointment of an experienced finance professional with relevant professional services understanding who fits with the dynamic of a highly collegiate board room and is motivated by equity value creation is a key element of the growth plan.

The opportunity:

• Overall responsibility for the design and delivery of the finance and legal strategies that support the mission, vision, and wider business strategy and are aligned with Company values.
• Lead and develop the finance function, bringing an in-depth knowledge of commercial finance, fundraising, corporate structuring, and M&A and upskilling the team where appropriate.
• Lead ongoing and future strategic growth projects, driving analysis, financial modelling and strategic insight workflows.
• Be an inspirational leader, driving accountability for achieving measurable shareholder value, developing internal talent, and identifying external talent who can deliver.
• Collaborate with other key central functions, providing support and positive challenges to each function’s senior leaders.
• Accountable for delivering commercial insight, using data and analytics to drive business performance.
• Provide strategic financial advice and support to the Leadership Team, providing insight to aid cost-efficient decision-making.
• Drive financial performance and improve business profitability, maintaining a relentless focus on cash flow.
• Deliver robust and accurate financial information and KPIs.
• Identify areas requiring improved robust financial controls and processes that drive stakeholder accountability, maintaining a cost efficient culture.
• Manage external stakeholder relationships and lead advisor and investor interactions.

You’ll be the ideal candidate for this position if you’re:

• Experienced with Private equity and have an understanding of the professional services operating model.
• A values-led, technically excellent senior finance professional.
• Self-confident and have leadership experience required to succeed.
• High energy and ambitious, with a growth mindset.
• A proven CFO with leadership experience in high-growth, entrepreneurial businesses.
