Blair West is delighted to support a high-growth, Private equity-backed professional services business searching for a Chief Financial Officer. The company seeks to appoint a CFO to play a vital role in delivering the next growth phase following a planned secondary MBO. The newly appointed CFO will replace an incumbent and provide strategic, commercial, and analytical insight as the business delivers an ambitious growth plan.

Our client faces a significant market opportunity and has a clear plan to capitalise on it following exceptional year-on-year growth. Led by an award-winning management team, the Business has successfully built a diversified service offering, nurtured a reputation for service quality, and is scaling up a subscription element to the revenue model. The CEO is looking to build on the achievements to date, including several strategic acquisitions, by bringing on board new PE investment as part of developing the platform for further growth.

This is an opportunity to join the board of an established, PE-backed, high-growth business and provide key contributions through board-level leadership in delivering an exceptional growth plan.

The opportunity:

• Overall responsibility for designing and delivering the finance and legal strategies that support the mission, vision, and broader business strategy aligned with Company values.
• Lead and develop the finance function, bringing an in-depth knowledge of commercial finance, fundraising, corporate structuring, and M&A and upskilling the team where appropriate.
• Lead ongoing and future M&A projects, driving analysis, financial modelling, strategic insight, and post-deal integration workflows.
• Act as an inspirational leader, driving accountability for achieving measurable shareholder value, developing internal talent, and identifying external talent who can deliver.
• Accountable for delivering commercial insight, using data and analytics to drive business performance.
• Provide strategic financial advice and support to the Leadership Team, providing insight to aid decision-making.
• Drive financial performance and improve business profitability, maintaining a relentless focus on cash flow.
• Deliver robust and accurate financial information and KPIs.
• Identify areas requiring improved robust financial controls and processes that drive stakeholder accountability, maintaining a cost control culture.
• Manage external stakeholder relationships.

You’ll be the ideal candidate for this position if you’re:

• A proven CFO with leadership experience in high-growth, entrepreneurial businesses.
• High energy and ambitious, with a growth mindset.
• An outcomes and solutions-focused, technically excellent senior finance professional.
• Have M&A and/or Private Equity Experience.
• Self-confident with leadership experience.
