Management Accountant

Blair West is supporting a growing business in South Shields to find a Management Accountant. This is a family-owned business headquartered in South Tyneside, operating both in a multi-site UK operation and globally. Following a period of sustained growth, the business is looking to add a Management Accountant to its head office function, taking primary responsibility for one key entity within the group.
The opportunity:
- Full preparation of management accounts for a key entity within the business, including variance analysis, VAT returns, and management pack presentation to Directors.
- Preparation and monitoring of cashflow forecasts, providing insights to senior leadership.
- Collaborating closely with the commercial team to enhance operational reporting and financial performance understanding.
- Improving information flows from the commercial team to ensure accurate financial assumptions for cashflow forecasting.
- Engaging with stakeholders at all levels, from junior staff to Directors, fostering a collaborative working environment.
- Potential to expand responsibilities over time, supporting additional entities within the group and contributing to project work as required.
You’ll be the ideal candidate for this position if you have:
- Strong management accounting experience within a business
- Proven ability to analyse financial data and present detailed management packs.
- Excellent Excel skills, including workbook creation and forecasting tool development.
- Experience supporting operational teams with financial insights and reporting tools.
- A team-oriented approach and the ability to work effectively in a fully office-based environment.
- Experience in practice or a strong understanding of accounting standards (beneficial).
- Knowledge of long-term contracting accounting (advantageous).
