Blair West are supporting a leading organisation to find a Senior Finance Manager – Risk and Internal Control (Financial Control). This senior position sits within the Financial Control Centre of Excellence (CoE) and will act as the primary point of contact for risk and internal control deliverables.
It carries responsibility for policy development, controls assurance, KPI oversight, and financial risk management, playing a pivotal role in ensuring governance and regulatory compliance across the organisation.
The opportunity:
- Lead the delivery of risk and internal control reporting to Finance leadership and governance forums.
- Champion and implement Finance policies aligned with the organisation’s risk appetite and control framework.
- Oversee controls assurance testing strategy, identifying process improvements and corrective actions.
- Develop and monitor KPIs to track organisational financial health, highlighting risks and opportunities.
- Maintain Finance risk documentation and partner with risk teams to mitigate identified risks.
- Coordinate internal audit queries, ad-hoc investigations, and technical support for Finance and business stakeholders.
- Collaborate with system implementation teams to embed automated financial controls.
- Ensure compliance with new or updated Company law and Finance GAAP requirements.
You’ll be the ideal candidate for this position if you have:
- Proven experience in financial control, risk management, or internal audit within a complex organisation.
- Strong technical knowledge of accounting principles, internal controls, and regulatory compliance.
- Experience managing KPI frameworks and interpreting financial performance data.
- Demonstrated ability to implement and maintain finance policies and frameworks.
- Proven stakeholder management skills, working effectively across departments and levels.
- Experience delivering process improvements and embedding automation in financial systems.
- Knowledge of GAAP and experience managing compliance with regulatory changes.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to meet deadlines across multiple projects.
