Blair West are supporting a high-growth technology and manufacturing business, to find a Project Accountant.
This role reports into the Group Financial Controller and has been created to provide robust project financial oversight and support across engineering and manufacturing projects.
The opportunity:
- Collaborate with the project management team to provide financial insight and guidance on project performance.
- Monitor project expenditure, track costs, and deliver variance reporting.
- Support revenue recognition processes and track project profitability.
- Conduct cost analysis to identify savings opportunities and improve project efficiency.
- Perform margin analysis for engineering and manufacturing projects.
- Prepare cost rate decks and assist with budget and forecast inputs.
- Support bid management and the commercial team with financial inputs and bid review.
- Assist with funding applications and manage grant reporting requirements.
- Analyse inventory by project to ensure accurate valuation.
- Manage capitalisation of development costs and R&D tax credit computations.
- Drive improvements in project financial systems, processes, and reporting.
- Ensure compliance with financial procedures and internal controls.
- Provide ad hoc support to the finance team, including audit requirements.
You’ll be the ideal candidate for this position if you have:
- Professional accounting qualification (or are an excellent finalist).
- Experience in project accounting or commercially focused finance roles.
- Strong attention to detail with an organised, methodical approach.
- Ability to liaise effectively with non-finance stakeholders and senior leadership.
- Proficiency with financial systems, analysis tools, and reporting software.
- Analytical mindset with a focus on cost control and profitability improvement.
