
Interim Financial Controller

Blair West are partnering with a growing, owner managed business with the appointment of an interim Financial Controller (contract likely to last for a year), reporting to the CFO.
Working as part of a small team, the successful candidate will oversee all aspects of month / year end reporting and leading a small, dynamic team. The successful candidate will be suitably qualified (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) and will bring service sector experience, with strong IT / systems skills.
The opportunity:
- Control of month-end activities – including board reporting and analysis.
- Review of monthly management accounts.
- Monitor cash flow & performance vs KPI / Budgets.
- Weekly & monthly forecasting.
- Provide finance support to the wider business through business partnering; providing financial analysis to support operational decision making.
- Support with leading & mentoring the finance team.
- Oversee financial transactions – payroll, payables, receivables.
- Drive process improvements via system and operational enhancements.
- Develop internal controls and finance governance.
You’ll be the ideal candidate for this position if you have:
- Have suitable post qualified experience (ACA, ACCA or CIMA).
- Available to commit to the full duration of this contract, likely > 12 months.
- Strong communication skills – can partner with budget holders.
- Have strong analytical skills, able to manage/analyse complex financial data, identify trends, and provide insights to support business decisions.
- Can demonstrate previous experience operating at a Manager/Controller level in a growing SME.
- Advanced user of systems/IT skills – Familiarity with Xero would be preferred.
