
Blair West are supporting DragonFly Advanced Materials to find a Head of Commercial Development. The business operates in the specialist chemical materials sector, with a strong focus on innovative solutions that contribute to environmental progress.
This is a newly created role designed to support DragonFly’s ambitious growth plans, with the Commercial Manager playing a key role in driving income generation and strategic development across the organisation. Sitting on the senior management team, the position offers high visibility and impact across both commercial and strategic operations.
The opportunity:
- Lead the identification and assessment of new business opportunities, including emerging markets, partnerships, licensing models, and franchise development.
- Develop and deliver a long-term income generation strategy focused on commercial development and revenue-generating programmes.
- Create and implement a Strategic Implementation Plan with defined milestones and income targets.
- Collaborate with Directors and the CEO to align financial targets with broader strategic priorities.
- Shape commercial strategies for silica aerogel application across key markets such as climate resilience and environmental protection.
- Design a CRM strategy to deepen engagement with customers and investors across all income streams.
- Drive commercial outcomes through strong customer and stakeholder relationships.
- Support and iterate the company’s Marketing and Communications Strategy to enhance brand visibility and business development outcomes.
- Represent DragonFly at a senior level externally, ensuring alignment between commercial priorities and public engagement.
- Lead the development of high-quality sales and marketing collateral.
You’ll be the ideal candidate for this position if you have:
- A degree or professional qualification in a related subject such as business management, finance, or marketing.
- A demonstrable track record in a senior-level role across commercial, business development, sales, or income generation.
- Strong knowledge of business development, marketing, and income generation practices – ideally gained within the chemical manufacturing sector.
- Significant experience in financial and budget management.
- A proven ability to develop and deliver commercial business plans that drive income growth and secure return on investment.
- Experience leading senior-level customer engagement and building strategic partnerships.
- A background working within chemicals, advanced materials, specialist insulation, or closely related sectors.
