Deputy CFO

Blair West are supporting a confidential client to find an interim Financial Controller.
This newly created role will sit directly beneath the FD, providing critical support in delivering financial control, allowing the FD the time and space to focus on wider strategic objectives.

The opportunity:

• Partner with the FD to design and deliver the business’ financial strategy in line with business objectives.
• Oversee statutory and management reporting, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and insight for key stakeholders.
• Lead the year-end reporting cycle, managing external audit processes and supporting the Audit Committee.
• Drive treasury management, ensuring optimal use of banking facilities and effective cash flow forecasting.
• Lead and develop the central finance team, building a high-performance culture.
• Provide analysis and insight to influence Board-level decision making.
• Play a leading role in digital transformation and finance process improvement initiatives.

You’ll be the ideal candidate for this position if you have:

• Professional finance qualification (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) with a strong technical background.
• Senior finance leadership experience in a complex, multi-site or fast-paced environment.
• Proven expertise in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and modelling.
• A track record of leading and developing high-performing teams.
• Commercial acumen with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
• Exposure to finance transformation, systems implementation, and automation projects.
