Blair West are supporting our client to find a 360° Data Scientist / Data Engineer. This is a fixed-term contract opportunity within an innovative software company, as they develop a brand-new predictive analytics service for the hospitality sector.
Sitting at the heart of the business, this is the first hire into their data team and will work closely with finance, product and engineering teams. This role offers the chance to create and deploy models that will directly shape how hospitality operators manage their business and optimise performance.
The opportunity:
- Develop advanced timeseries models to accurately predict revenue patterns across pubs, restaurants, and other hospitality venues.
- Design and build end-to-end data pipelines, transforming raw data into actionable insights.
- Create scalable prediction engines to serve thousands of hospitality sites.
- Contribute to a completely new service offering that will expand our client’s offering significantly.
- Take full 360° ownership – spanning data engineering, modelling, and deployment.
- Build solutions from the ground up.
- Drive measurable business impact by enabling smarter revenue decisions for operators.
You’ll be the ideal candidate for this position if you have:
- A strong background in data science and machine learning, with expertise in timeseries forecasting.
- Experience building robust data engineering pipelines and infrastructure.
- Proficiency in Python or R, including use of relevant ML libraries such as pandas, scikit-learn, TensorFlow or PyTorch.
- Advanced SQL knowledge and experience with modern data stacks.
- Practical experience working with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and containerisation.
- Commercial acumen, with the ability to translate technical outputs into clear business value.
- Desirable experience in revenue/demand forecasting, hospitality or retail data, or bringing ML products from concept to production.
