Business Development Manager

UK – Remote
£50,000 – £55,000 + commission

Blair West are supporting a leading global expansion company, to find a Business Development Representative. The business is a trusted partner to SMEs, scale-ups, recruiters, and international businesses, delivering outsourced HR, payroll, finance, accounting, and compliance services. This newly created role reports into the senior commercial leadership team and has been designed to accelerate growth as the business continues to expand its client base globally.

The opportunity

  • Drive new business activity across a range of industries, including SMEs, scale-ups, and recruiters with international operations.
  • Lead outbound prospecting and engagement through digital channels, including LinkedIn, email campaigns, and sales automation tools.
  • Manage a high volume of meetings (both virtual and face-to-face), with 60%+ of time dedicated to client engagement.
  • Own the full sales cycle from prospecting to close, with a strong emphasis on solution-based, consultative selling.
  • Build and maintain a healthy sales pipeline using CRM tools to track performance and deal progression.
  • Present tailored proposals that align with client needs across HR, payroll, finance, and compliance services.
  • Represent Briars at relevant networking events and conferences to identify new opportunities.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams to ensure smooth onboarding and exceptional service delivery.
  • Contribute feedback to marketing and operational teams to improve offerings and client experience.

 

You’ll be the ideal candidate for this position if you have

  • A strong track record in B2B sales, specifically in selling outsourced accounting, HR, payroll, or compliance services.
  • Experience working with SME and scale-up businesses, with some exposure to international clients or markets.
  • A consultative approach to sales, with the ability to understand client pain points and tailor solutions.
  • Demonstrated the ability to generate and close new business in a fast-paced, target-driven environment.
  • Confidence in using CRM systems and sales tools to manage pipelines and reporting.
  • A high energy, self-starting mindset with a results-oriented approach to sales activity.
  • Skills in both digital outreach and face-to-face relationship building.
  • Excellent negotiation and presentation skills with a commercial mindset.
