Blair West are delighted to be supporting a County Durham–based client in their search for an Accounts Payable Assistant.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced AP professional who enjoys a fast-paced role and values being part of a supportive, team-focused environment.
The opportunity:
- Proven ability to deliver an effective Accounts Payable function within a fast-paced business.
- Experience consolidating multiple business units and standardising varied AP processes into a single, efficient function.
- Strong capability in leading and managing weekly BACS payment runs.
- Expertise in resolving complex invoice discrepancies and payment queries.
- Demonstrated success in clearing aged creditor balances and maintaining accurate supplier accounts.
- Excellent communication skills with both internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
- Proactive contributor to continuous process improvement and efficiency initiatives.
- Proficient in using Xero accounting software.
You’ll be the ideal candidate for this position if you have:
- Previous experience working in an Accounts Payable role.
- Strong ERP system experience, with the ability to work confidently across finance platforms.
- Exceptional attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in invoice processing and payments.
- A continuous improvement mindset, proactively identifying opportunities to enhance processes and controls.
