Blair West are supporting a leading regional accountancy firm to find a Tax Manager. This role sits within a dynamic and forward-thinking accountancy practice, renowned for working with some of the region’s most exciting entrepreneurial businesses. Reporting directly to a Partner, this is a key position within the firm’s tax function and represents a growth hire in response to continued client demand. 

The opportunity:

• Lead on the delivery of tax compliance and advisory services for a diverse and high-value client portfolio. 

• Advise on a broad range of personal, corporate, and specialist tax matters, including trusts, IHT planning, and corporate restructures. 

• Review and finalise corporate tax computations and collaborate closely with audit and accounts teams. 

• Manage and allocate assignments across the tax team to ensure deadlines and quality standards are met. 

• Take the lead on technical tax research to support advisory projects and partner-led client work. 

• Deliver in-house training sessions and mentor junior team members to build wider team capability. 

• Represent the firm at external networking events and client meetings, building strong professional relationships. 

• Actively contribute to the development and enhancement of internal processes and systems. 

You’ll be the ideal candidate for this position if you have:

• A CTA qualification or ACA/ACCA/CA with demonstrable experience in a tax-focused role. 

• Significant practice-based tax experience, including both compliance and advisory work. 

• Strong technical expertise in areas such as corporate tax, IHT, trusts, and R&D tax relief. 

• A track record of managing and developing high-performing teams. 

• Excellent organisation and prioritisation skills, with the ability to meet competing client deadlines. 

• Confident communication and interpersonal skills, including client-facing experience. 

• A proactive, commercially minded approach to identifying opportunities for improvement and growth. 

• Experience using tax systems such as CCH or Iris is desirable.
