Group Financial Accountant
North Shields |£45,000 - £55,000
Blair West is supporting Kitwave PLC headquartered in North Shields as they look to bring in a Group Financial Accountant in a newly-created role due to continued growth. You will be reporting into the Group Finance Manager.
The opportunity:
- Reporting to the Group Finance Manager, this role will assist in the completion of the Group’s plc filing requirements.
- Preparation of the Group consolidation and workings behind the financial statements ensuring compliance with applicable standards and regulations.
- Manage the production of subsidiary statutory accounts for Group entities.
- Planning and executing the annual and interim audit timetables and management of the auditors to ensure a smooth, timely process.
- Preparation of additional analysis required for City reporting/trading updates.
- Demonstrate IFRS knowledge and assist in preparing accounting papers for the Board and external auditors.
- Involvement in finance enterprise risk management and control across the group.
- Support the preparation and filing of statutory accounts in accordance with local accounting standards for each entity.
- Coordinate with the external auditors during audit process, providing documentation and addressing audit queries efficiently.
- Ensure all VAT filings are prepared and submitted accurately for all entities within the group.
- Lead on banking and treasury-related queries, ensuring efficient financial management and operational support.
- Provide involvement and oversight in managing group insurance policies and processes.
- Conduct compliance work, focusing on anti-bribery and anti-money laundering (AML) regulations.
- Ad hoc finance and operational-related projects.
You’ll be the ideal candidate for this position if you’re someone who has:
- A qualification in accounting (ACA/ACCA/CIMA).
- Good working knowledge of IFRS and accounting standards
- Hunger and desire to develop in a fast-paced, thriving business.
- Strong analytical skills, proficient in the use of MS Office.
- Experience around compliance, insurance and/or anti-money laundering (Not essential).
- Exposure to listed audits would be advantageous.
- Experience in stat accounting.
- Performed a similar role in a Group function, if coming from industry.
