Blair West is partnering with One Utility Bill as they continue to grow their team with the hire of a Financial Controller.  This is an opportunity to lead the finance team, supporting the Finance Director as the business continues its impressive growth story.

The opportunity:

• Oversee the preparation of timely and accurate financial statements, reports, and forecasts.
• Manage and develop the budgeting process, including variance analysis, KPI enhancement and performance tracking.
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards, including tax and audit requirements.
• Manage pricing levels for management and other fees in collaboration with Growth and Marketing teams to maintain competitiveness whilst achieving budget goals.
• Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to improve efficiency and control.
• Monitor cash flow and manage working capital to optimize liquidity.
• Be responsible for the Treasury function and managing the day-to-day relationship with the company’s bank.
• Provide financial insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure alignment of financial goals with business objectives.
• Lead and develop the Finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
• Liaise with external auditors and regulatory bodies as necessary.

You’ll be the ideal candidate for this position if you have:

•  A ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualification.
• At least five years post-qualification experience.
• Proven experience in a financial management role.
• Strong knowledge of UK accounting standards and financial regulations.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in financial software (Oracle Netsuite and Xero referred) and the Microsoft/Google suites of apps, in particular, Excel.
• Strong leadership and communication skills. Confident presenter to large audiences.
• The ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Experience of the UK utilities sector desirable but not essential.
