Blair West is supporting Tabeo, a high-growth FinTech organisation, as they look to bring in a Financial Accountant in a remote role, albeit it is expected that the role will be based in Newcastle to help with interaction with the Newcastle based Group FC.

The opportunity:

• Prepare detailed and timely monthly management accounts.
• Consolidate monthly group financials, ensuring intercompany transactions are correctly eliminated.
• Complete all balance sheet reconciliations promptly, investigating and resolving any discrepancies.
• Drive the continuous improvement and automation of financial processes across the group, enhancing efficiency and accuracy.
• Contribute to the development and documentation of accounting policies and procedures, ensuring alignment with best practices.
• Collaborate with the Financial Controller and FP&A Manager on various ad-hoc projects, including cash flow forecasting, scenario planning, and financial modelling.
• Prepare financial information for board packs and audits.
• Mentor and support a transactional finance team member, offering guidance on tasks such as AP/AR and bank reconciliations.
• Promote a culture of continuous learning within the finance team, fostering professional growth and training opportunities.
• Oversee the preparation and filing of statutory accounts in compliance with local accounting standards as the business expands internationally.

You’ll be the ideal candidate for this position if you’re someone who:

• Is a fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent), with a preference for candidates with an audit background.
• Has a good understanding of financial reporting and consolidations.
• Is experienced in identifying and suggesting improvements to financial processes and systems.
• Has strong communication skills, with the ability to share financial information clearly with both financial and non-financial audiences.
• Has a supportive and collaborative approach, with experience in guiding and mentoring junior team members.
