We are supporting SaleCycle with the search for a high calibre CRO, a critical appointment and key part of an ambitious growth plan. SaleCycle is a global tech-enabled service provider and a SaaS product portfolio that enables improved commercial performance for online businesses through improving conversion and abandonment rates.
The business is backed by supportive Private Equity investor, BGF. The Board has decided to appoint a new CRO to focus on accelerating new business acquisition and upsell to existing customers. The CRO will lead an international sales team and play a key role delivering an ambitious growth strategy.
Appointing a CRO to drive new business wins will realise growth ambition and build on the deeply-embedded relationships held with key customers. The business is seeking a commercial role model who will positively impact the wider business through an international sales remit and be a key senior leader in the UK Head Office.
The Opportunity:
- Accelerate new business – designing, implementing and accelerating sales strategy, owning and refining the short and medium-term business plan to achieve significant new business wins.
- Increase the volume of upsell leveraging customer satisfaction and SaleCycle’s full product and service portfolio.
- Improve contract quality – switching from a performance to fixed fee project model.
- Actively promote and represent the company in the market, seeking any opportunity to enhance the company’s profile and proactively acquire new clients in the UK and international markets.
- Taking direct responsibility for building a profitable client portfolio – devise and implement commercial strategies to maximise the effectiveness of sales and marketing resource, increase sales opportunities and conversion of prospects.
- Promoting and selling business solutions, preparing tenders, negotiating contracts, and closing deals.
- Act as an inspirational leader, driving accountability for achieving measurable value growth, developing internal talent, and identifying external talent who can deliver.
- Be a commercial leader in Gateshead and Paris office – managing external stakeholder relationships where appropriate.
You’ll be the ideal candidate for this position if you:
- Are an experienced commercial leader with proven track record of delivering growth in online/digital/ecommerce and SaaS (strong understanding/passion to the extent direct experience not evidenced in any one of these areas).
- Have a strong sales mentality/persona and ability to evidence transformational growth in revenue through delivery of sales targets.
- Obtain a direct technological/development background not essential, but important to have passion for technology products and SaaS business models.
- Have a strong financial understanding and has experience of working in PE/VC-backed business(es) desirable but not essential.
- Are able to lead across varied disciplines: sales, marketing, technology/development, operations, customer experience and service delivery.
- Have a track record of driving and delivering outstanding results through the leadership, development and motivation of others.
- Are experienced in working in a fast-pace entrepreneurial environment is highly sought after.
- Have a growth mind-set with exceptional communication and presentation skills – you will be dynamic, able to build rapport and influence across the business, providing motivation and support to colleagues and being a catalyst for positive change.
