Assistant Management Accountant
Newcastle Upon Tyne |£35,000 - £40,000 + bonus
Blair West is partnering with True Potential, the PE-backed, high-growth financial services business in Newcastle, as they look to add an Assistant Management Accountant to their finance team. With 17 years of consecutive growth, the business has seen turnover soar past £450m with continued growth expected. This has seen the finance team expand from 15 to c. 40 in under 2 years. Joining an existing team of 7, this role will focus on assisting with management accounts production, internal business partnering, and assisting with revenue reporting.
The opportunity:
- Using a range of financial data to work as a team to generate the monthly/quarterly Revenue Management Accounts for the organisation.
- Provide variance analysis at month end.
- Ensure completion of daily bank reconciliations.
- Prepare weekly gross profit projections and carry out regular analysis of monthly and yearly revenue against budget.
- Preparing financial reports for senior management to assist with decision making. · Maintain accurate schedule of work papers throughout the month.
- Identifying opportunities to continuously improve processes and to contribute to the wider finance project on the implementation of Workday.
- Communicating at all levels within the organisation, with the capability to present financial information to non-finance colleagues and teams.
- Assist and support the annual financial audit and external audits and own resolutions where required.
- Make continuous improvements to the processes, controls and quality of data · Collaborate with other teams within and beyond the Finance department to improve processes and maximise client service.
- Other ad-hoc duties as required.
You’ll be the ideal candidate for this position if you have:
- Started working towards ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualification.
- Experience with Workday preferential.
- The ability to comfortably handle your own workload and business partnering across internal teams.
- Experience producing management accounts.
- Strong communication, both written and verbal.
- An ability to investigate complex issues to resolution.
- The desire to continue professional development as the business grows.
