Head of Finance

Blair West are supporting a scaling professional services business to the appointment of a Head of Finance.

This is a key leadership role within the organisation, responsible for overseeing all financial operations and shaping the company’s strategic financial direction.

Reporting directly to the senior leadership team, the Head of Finance will ensure robust financial management, effective business partnering, and scalable processes to support the company’s continued international growth.   

We envisage that suitable candidates will have strong technical skills, 5+ years of post-qualified experience and Finance Director aspirations.  

The opportunity:

• Own month-end close, consolidation, and management reporting cycles. 
• Ensure compliance with UK and international audit, tax, and statutory requirements. 
• Oversee day-to-day financial operations and statutory compliance.  
• Lead group-level cashflow forecasting and liquidity management. 
• Lead budgeting and forecasting processes, providing insight and challenge at the group level. 
• Partner with senior leadership on long-term planning, pricing, and investment decisions. 
• Manage relationships with outsourced accounting and payroll providers, driving process efficiency and scalability. 
• Manage and authorise payments, maintaining strong internal controls and ensuring accuracy and timeliness. 
• Champion continuous improvement and automation across finance systems and processes. 

You’ll be the ideal candidate for this position if you have:

• Full accountancy qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with 5+ years’ post-qualified experience. 
• Strong academics and career track record.
• Proven finance leadership experience within professional services or high-growth international environments. 
• Demonstrated expertise in cashflow management & finance operations.
• Commercial acumen with a proactive, hands-on approach and the ability to balance strategic and operational priorities. 
• Exceptional communication and influencing skills.
