Director of Solution Engineering

Blair West are supporting a global leader in trade promotions management and revenue growth solutions, to find a Director of Solution Engineering for the EMEA region. This is a senior leadership hire within the go-to-market organisation and a critical role in driving enterprise sales success across the region. The position is newly created as our client scales its footprint and expands its enterprise reach across the consumer goods sector.

The opportunity

• Lead and develop a high-performing Solution Engineering team across the EMEA region.
• Shape and own the technical pre-sales strategy, collaborating closely with enterprise sales to secure high-value deals.
• Oversee and participate in discovery workshops, solution design, technical demos, and proof-of-value engagements.
• Engage directly with C-suite decision-makers, positioning client solutions as strategic growth enablers.
• Act as the senior technical voice in sales cycles, helping to remove barriers and accelerate deal closure.
• Ensure seamless collaboration with Professional Services, Delivery, and Product teams to support successful implementations.
• Drive process improvement and innovation across the pre-sales lifecycle.
• Represent our client at key industry events, contributing to thought leadership and market visibility.

You’ll be the ideal candidate for this position if you have

• A proven track record closing or supporting 6- and 7-figure enterprise SaaS deals, ideally in the consumer packaged goods (CPG) space.
• Strong technical knowledge of data architecture, analytics, and enterprise cloud platforms (Azure, Data Factory, Synapse, etc.).
• Demonstrable leadership experience within Solution Engineering/Pre-Sales teams in a fast-scaling SaaS business.
• Experience crafting compelling enterprise proposals and technical strategies aligned to complex business needs.
• A consultative, customer-first approach to solution design and stakeholder engagement.
• Confidence engaging executive stakeholders and simplifying complex technical topics.
• A strong cross-functional mindset with the ability to operate strategically and hands-on.
• A relevant technical degree or equivalent experience in engineering or computer science.
• Flexibility to travel across EMEA in support of client and team needs.
