Blair West is supporting a growing VR-powered mental health tech business in the North East who are providing health professionals with situation-specific VR therapeutic solutions to treat individuals across a range of anxieties. This is a fantastic role for a mission-driven and highly experienced senior-level Unity Developer. You will produce realistic 3D scenarios to be deployed to a wide range of platforms including large-screen TVs, PCs, Macs, tablets and VR headsets. The opportunity:

• You will be integral to the design, development and delivery of products and services for the health sector in the UK and globally.
• Using your extensive software engineering and product development skills, you will be a Unity specialist with extensive commercial experience. Your aim will primarily be to develop VR environments and further develop cloud-based SaaS multi-user products.
• Working within a team of six developers, you will be expected to help drive exact and timely development along with the Lead Unity developer with regular reporting to the CTO. You will also contribute to the design and specification of solutions for virtual scene production.
• You will have solid development documentation skills, as well as fantastic communication skills to drive high-quality and persuasive demonstrations to internal teams, clients and partners.
• Remote and on-site technical support will be provided as required.

You’ll be the ideal candidate for this role if you have:

• Extensive experience and a deep knowledge of Unity 3D and object-oriented programming (C++/C#). 3D graphics programming experience is also required.
• Experience with the cloud-based SaaS technology ecosystem including solid AWS and network optimisation knowledge.
• Excellent commercial Agile software product development skills, i.e. Scrum, and a strong knowledge of JIRA.
• Experience using software for ideation and the production of specifications, e.g., Miro, Balsamiq and Lucid Chart.
• Excellent understanding of UX/UI design in 3D environments and the ability to build rapid VR/AR/MR prototypes.
• Excellent understanding of 3D modelling optimisation requirements for “in-game”.
• Excellent spoken and written communication and presentation skills.
• Demonstrable VR/AR/MR project experience, experience developing for Meta standalone HMDs, and knowledge of cyber security B2B and B2C standards, would be strongly advantageous.
